On the Path of the Past- A historical path leads from Gand to the Arlbergpass

Whoever likes to combine the pleasures of culture and nature while hiking will love the historical path in St.Anton am Arlberg. This route connects historically significant sports with splendid scenery in stimulating and entertaining fashion. Moreover, at six wayside stations, plaques reveal fascinating information about historical connections.

Point of departure is in the village district St.Jakob (hamlet of Gand), where once upon a time silver and mercury was mined. Along St.James's Path (Jakobusweg) one hikes over to St.Jakob, gazes in awe at the two oldest hamlets of St.Anton and admires the church, whose simple exterior stands in stark contrast to the opulent Baroque interior.
