KuL Designs was founded on the vision of Hanz Lammersdorf, an experienced industrial designer whose architecture projects include modernizing several bland Soviet-era apartment blocks in Kiev into a mecca of modern living. Upon returning to his roots in Washington state, Hanz found himself seeking elements in and around his home that simply did not exist on the market: modern, functional, illuminated furniture, sustainably manufactured in the USA.
Through careful consideration for the environment, KuL is committed to minimizing our impact on the planet.
“Environmentally sound” is the first initiative at KuL. Every process and system from design and manufacturing to shipping has been examined with the primary goal of low environmental impact. We keep our carbon footprint small by manufacturing all of our products locally in the Pacific Northwest.
KuL’s products are sustainable. Left over shavings and cut-away pieces from the manufacturing process go right back into the shredder and can be used to make fresh new parts.
• Low-wattage LED lighting – KuL sources technologically advanced, low-voltage, long-lasting LED lighting that lasts up to 50,000 hours.
Recycled & Recyclable
• We utilize the maximum amount of recycled content we can in every piece of furniture we make, and we are continuously striving to increase the percentage of recycled content. In fact, our black-colored pieces are manufactured from 100% recycled materials.
• The materials used in making KuL’s products are recycle friendly. Since all of our products have recycled content in them we encourage people to help maintain the cycle.
• We stay true to the Cradle-to-cradle design philosophy.
